A virtual assistant is someone who works from home or an outside office, and gives administrative support in a variety of ways to a business or entrepreneur. Businesses use this support for occasional help or for large projects in a variety of ways.
The purpose of a VA is to give business people more leverage with their time, which can be better spent actually running their business.
How Can A Virtual Assistant help you?
By better leveraging time, you can stay focused on running your business while someone else does all of those mundane things that someone else really can do.
What are the Advantages of Hiring a Virtual Assistant?
By hiring a virtual assistant, you have the advantage of not having to hire a full, or even part time worker. You have the freedom to use as little or as much time as you actually need without the commitment to a regular salary. And you don’t have to spend money on another space for someone to work in. Virtual Assistants work in their own space, usually at home. It is a win win for both sides. The Virtual Assistant gets to work where they like and can take on as much or as little work as they like as well.
So What do Virtual Assistants Do?
That depends, they are all different. Each has their own skill sets and specializations. Some work in particular fields, others are more general. But for the most part they are proficient with computer skills and the basics like Microsoft Office and phone skills.
Some things that are common to outsource to a Virtual Assistant would be contact management systems, mailings though software like Mailchimp or Constant Contact, data entry, marketing, preparing reports or presentations, filling out forms and marketing, posting to Craigslist and other media on a set schedule, or postings on Google+, Facebook and Twitter accounts, website blogs and more.
